Hey everyone! This post is the first of our pre-comic story series or mini-stories introducing our characters and sharing with you some historic or background info on them. All events are before the beginning of the Vindicated Comic. #Vindicated #Dian #Riley #AlyciaDebnamCarey #ElizaTaylor
I’m the luckiest girl in the universe. I can’t believe I finally had the guts to confess how much I love her and how much she means to me. We even cry, like in those romantic movies and we made love, and it was so, so beautiful that I still think everything was a dream.
I, Dian, fell in love with the most wonderful woman I had the luck to meet.
I’m sitting at my desk now, in my apartment. Riley went to hers to get some clothes, and she will be back here, to be with me and to learn more things about each other, in the meantime, I sit here, smiling like an idiot and trying to compose myself before she gets back.
Is not going to work. Every time I see Riley my heart stops and I can’t do anything but look at her.
How did I get this lucky? How am I deserving of this kind of feeling?
She makes my days better. Makes me want to be better, challenges me and stands by me when something is not right. She was my nightmare when we first meet, and now she is my whole world. She makes the darkness in me disappear just by looking at me.
She is beautiful in every way, and I’m not talking about her body, don’t get me wrong, she is incredibly sexy, but her personality also takes my breath away.
She is extremely funny but at the same time serious. She knows what she wants and how to get it. Good luck if you ever try to stand in her way.
But at the same time, she is soft and vulnerable.
She wasn’t looking for love. I wasn’t looking for love, but the universe has a funny way of slapping you in the face.
Anyways. Everything was perfect. Every little thing was planned and looked over even if Dian was scared it was worth every second…
Dian got the call ten minutes ago. Riley was coming to have dinner and watch Netflix, or at least, that was what she thinks she will be doing.
Dian smiled to herself.
She has been planning this all week. She even went through Renee’s teasing and Nadia’s laugh while Matthew encouraged her and Josh told her about a good lasagna recipe he learned from his grandmother.
This night will either end right or in a complete disaster, but after all this time working together, Dian simply can not deny her feelings anymore.
She is tired of feeling like a coward; it was time to move.
The phone in her hand buzzed with a new message from Renee, a gif of two bunnies that Dian simply removed before she put the final touches on her house.
Candles, the table set with dinner and red wine and her personal touch: a line of roses that go from the door to the table, a teddy bear on the table, beside the lasagna and some piano music on in the background.
Dian bit her lip. She felt like a fool in love.
There was a knock at the door, and Dian smiled. She knew it was Riley and nearly running, Dian went to the bedroom.
“Door is open! Come in!” said Dian.
Dian smiled when she heard the door open and then, a gasp.
Riley never thought she was going to find something like what she was seeing in front of her. Dian’s house looked beautiful with the roses and the candles, as she walked, Riley smiled more and more, seeing the teddy bear, the lasagna and hearing the music.
She stood there, in silence. Her blue eyes were shinning with tears and her smile so bright she could compete with the sun.
“From the look on your face…I guess you like it?” asked a voice beside her.
Riley turned to see Dian standing beside her with a little smile on her and yes, she could do a lot of things right now, but she only wanted to do one.
And she did it…
Before Dian could move, Riley threw herself at her and started kissing her, a mix between the desire Riley has been trying to contain since she met Dian and the tenderness she felt at that moment.
Dian grabbed her, making sure they wouldn’t fall to the ground while they kissed, fast at first, but then it turned into a sweet kiss, a chance to let their mouths get to know one another.
“I love it…I…” tried Riley not knowing what to say.
At that point, Dian knew the dinner would be forgotten, and she smiled, grabbing Riley’s hands and making the blonde look at her.
“I need to tell you something,” said Dian.
Riley looked at her, expectantly and Dian felt her knees go weak, but she closes her eyes for a moment and breaths, forcing herself to relax.
“You were a pain in the ass when I met you…” started Dian.
Riley laughed, a tear running down her face and Dian smiled.
“Thank you, Dian. You were lovely too,” said Riley, squeezing Dian’s hand in her own.
“You were, but your spirit made me change the way I saw you and…, and I don’t know how this happened. I don’t know how I could fall in love when I thought love wasn’t for me,” said Dian, looking at Riley’s eyes.
Riley tried to say something, but Dian stopped her by putting her index finger to her lips.
“I love you, Riley. I have been in love with you for a while, but I was too much of a coward to admit it,” said Dian, smiling. “But I’m not a coward anymore. I love you, and I’m not scared to admit it.”
Riley looked at her as if Dian just put the stars in the sky and then she started crying, hugging Dian as Dian just held her.
“Idiot!” said Riley. “Don’t you know I feel the same? I have been in love with you since you started to show your real self, the caring, and compassionate side that makes you a good leader.”
Dian breathed and then, she broke the hug and looked at Riley. It was a magic moment, green with blue and nothing more. Nothing else mattered.
And then, they kissed again and forgot everything about dinner while they walked to the bedroom, never breaking the kiss….
That night is something I will remember till my last breath. I remember waking up in the middle of the night, looking at Riley and praying I wasn’t dreaming and if I was, I begged never to wake up again.
This was, is and forever will be my dream…
Oh! Is the door, Riley is back! Ok, diary, is been good to write again. I hope to come back soon with more beautiful memories.
Until next time,
